Using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools we will look at your structure as a "System".  We apply building science principles combined with our Code knowledge and experience to prescribe an unbiased, cost effective comprehensive improvements plan that will yield the best results.   

  • Home Performance with Energy Star  audit process takes 3-7 hours to complete.  Reports are generated within 72 hrs of the assessment. The assessment process includes:
  • Visual Evaluation of Water management Components including grading, gutter system, wall / roof coverings.
  • Testing and evaluation of ventilation components including power exhaust vents and passive attic/ crawlspace ventilation systems.
  • Thermal Imaging – an evaluation of building thermal envelope components including concealed structural cavities utilizing thermal imager (a.k.a. Infrared camera or IR camera).
  • Conducting Door Blower test designed to identify and quantify air infiltration (a.k.a. drafts).
  • Conducting Duct Blaster test designed to quantify HVAC duct leakage.
  • Conducting evaluation of HVAC system(s) components.
  • Conducting an array of safety tests designed to identify and predict potential Carbon Monoxide intrusions into the house.
  • Compiling a digital report including visual and infrared images of discovered problems and written recommended remedies.
  • Compiling a prioritized list of improvements based on HPwES program guidelines and independently verified by SouthFace Institute http://www.southface.org/,  recognized regional leader in Green Building Technologies.
